Then no doubt you are also able to recognise the users - do you report them too?

If the death penalty is supposed to be the ultimate deterrent how come it doen’t work - in any country?

No one here is disputing that there should be judicial punishment, not least the Bali Nine themselves. Those who call for the death penalty seem, IMO, to be satisfying some deep need within themselves to appear holier/better than those of us who are repelled by judicial murder.

We are all entitled to an opinion but killing people allows for no change of mind or attitude once it has been carried out - so we should be very careful about what we ask for and ask ourselves why we are asking.

You should be careful what you wish for - it was only a few years ago when an innocent Australian ventured off to a favoured country for a bit of fun and sun and found herself used as a scapegoat and locked away for 20 years.

Treasure your freedom, because it can be taken away from you in a heartbeat.

If you're talking about Schapelle Corby, then you must be one of the 0.1% of Australians who still think this drug crim from a whole family of drug crims is still innocent.

and you are very naive, narrowminded and ignorant...

you need to brush up on your reasearch.

Schapelle is not a "drug crim" - and yes i do believe she is innocent. She was used as an unsuspecting scapegoat for some very selfish individual.

her family is not a family of "drug crims" by the way - the fact that her father was not convicted for possessing a small amount of mj, 30 years ago does not make him a "drug crim".

James and Clinton are individuals who's actions and activities are not related to their sharing a mother with Schapelle...

now boot off you negative tosser and spread your filth elsewhere.

Default It would be hard for

me not to be for it if my child was molested and then killed by someone........
capital punishment doesnt equal it but.....does that person even deserve a death like that . which to me seems easy ....image how it was for the person who died.....did they have a judge jury and answer....no...they didnt....but this person did.....

to me anyone who is put to death for killing someone is let of easy in the US.....they usually sit on death row for 17 years...and maybe they never will be but death and if they do its not like the crime they committed....do you want that person free even if they are "reformed"/

If your capable of killing someone you always will be...and i dont want them walking around in my neighborhood like child molester...you can't rehab someone like that...they will even admit it......they always do...

Default my sincere support to all families.

I really wish more people could see our world like sweet-sage does, i truly believe we all deserve a second chance, yes we are all perfectible, especially when some of us are led to take different paths in their life given different family/cultural/social backgrounds. I'm against death penalty too as i believe no one on this earth has the right to claim someone else life, let alone its usefullness..

Yes they should be punished and know what they were risking, but c'mon, if human condition was so easy to resume, we could all live under one world law ! But that's the point, we are all about nuance, complexity, variety. But as sweet sage putted it, human rights should know no borders.

Won't do much but i share your grief.

For anyone who thinks they are too small to be able to make a difference - think of what a mosquito can achieve when it gets up too close.

doesn’tmatter - your comments are what the Bali Nine and their families need to hear.

Thank you
Kate

They won't be spared, because the Indonesians realize that would send the wrong message to anybody contemplating drug smuggling - that Australian drug smugglers have a loophole to escape through if they are caught. Sad and tragic for all involved, but unfortunately true.

They won’t be spared if we don’t motivate our polititians to lobby the Indonesian government to commute the death sentences to increased prison sentences.

Politicians will only act if they think not doing so will affect their election chances - it is up to us to motivate them.

For as long as they believe that all there is to life is trade and money, doing the right thing by all voters, and for the right reasons, is not high on their agenda.
