Default An early morning walk on a deserted beach...

I guess it will take a little while to catch on but here we have a great oppotunity to voice our opinions on the Bali 9... so come on don't be shy... lets start leaving some opinions, debates and discussion

My opinion on the Bali 9 is in regards to the death penalty for Chan and Sukumaran - I am totally against the death penalty.

I don't believe an early morning walk on a deserted beach that ends with a bullet in ya head is the penalty that these two deserve... if anything a resonably lengthy sentence is more than enough.

It saddens me that these young men with so much ahead of them have wasted their life and will die in vain.

Default life or death

1st-These people were heroin merchants, this point seems to be overlooked.
How many Aussies have died directly because of these individuals. The 2 sentenced to death knew the stakes and were willing to go forward. Not only that, but were able to corrupt other individuals to actually haul the H.

2nd- I think that death would be preferable to life in a foreign prison. I don't think the Balinese(?) are particularly enlightened in their humanity toward prisoners.

Give me the walk on the beach. These 2 destoyed no only their own lives, they destroyed the other 7 as well (and the families). Good riddence and Godspeed.

Hey realspeak!!! Are you for "real"

Umm... no it hasn't been overlooked - we are well aware of their guilt.

... and how many have died from other people's 2nd hand smoke, car exhaust fumes, bad food etc - come on lets not be ridiculous here - just many people chose to take the drugs which gives the suppliers and traffikers a market for their goods... no different to shops who sell cigarettes, fuel depots and crummy restaurants - just the legal/illegal thing... that's all.

... as were the mules... most of them knew the risks they were taking - now they are dealing with their punishment - all very bravely too (if it were me I'd be a blubbering mess)

If you think death is preferable then go kill yourself mate... put their shoes on and see how you feel... never judge unless you've taken a walk in someone elses shoes. From what I've read Kerobokan - as far as prisons go - is pretty lax on some of their rules as opposed to an Australian jail... in Australia you get what ya given by the system, not allowed presents from family and ya visitors are only allowed for a two hour max visit once a week in most prisons here... I've read Schapelle can spend almost as much time as she wants with her family... is allowed to have gifts of clothing, books, money etc from family and well wishers and I'm sure the same goes for the Bali 9... so weigh up the good with the bad... I think a positive outlook is more beneficial - too much negativity in the world.

PS realspeak - don't kill yaself... was just a stupid example I was using - a cheap stab if you will (pardon the pun).

Like I have said in other posts... treasure your freedom - it can be taken away in a heartbeat.

... and finally from possum - this site is to SUPPORT the Bali 9, regardless of their mistakes and wrongdoings - everyone deserves a second chance if they will learn and repair their wrongdoings.

Thank you for your opinion... you've just had an earbashing of mine.

I third it.

These 6 want to live, even in prison, rather than die. As Possum said, you are not in their shoes.
