hi mini... i think our friendly arguement has gone a bit stale

but to answer your last point - i most certainly do not think chan and sukumaran should "just walk away without a blemish" or any of the bali 9 for that matter, and i guess i am going by australia's punishment standards, but i think that all of them have spent more than enough time being punished and i am absolutely certain that they ALL have learnt a very valuble lesson and it's time to send them home to their loved ones.

as i have never sat through one of their trials or personally sifted through the evidence it is a bit hard to know the absolute truth behind their arrest etc and can only go by the word of our media - therefore i believe some of what is relayed back to us may not be 100% true... all 9 will have their "own story" to tell of what role they played.

anyway like i said in an earlier post we could argue about this forever and still never agree - and my opinion is my own... BUT... in my opinion... none of the bali 9 should be facing death and every single one of them should be allowed to come home... alive! in my perfect world they could all come home and finish their sentences here - at least they will be in better conditions and closer to loved ones.

so therefore a suitable punishment is reasonable jail time - time to think, recount their actions, review their values and redeem themselves. a chance to rehabilitate and a chance to better themselves would be fantastic.

a chance...

everyone deserves that...

hi possum,if you read the book ,all the other members of the bali nine were afraid of chan and sukumaran....they feared for their lives and those of their family ....in a perfect world guys like that should be taken out of society, because they cant behave in a civillised manner.....why does your heart bleed for them?.....if it wasnt for chan and sukumaran there would be no bali 9.......I think you need to look at the big picture......

Ok mini... are you trying to stir up an argument... really...

I do intend on reading the book... and even when I do read it my views on the Death Penalty will not change... nor will my opinion on the Bali 9...

But...

More of my opinion: I am fully aware of the claims that the other members were afraid of Chan and Sukumaran - as I understand (going by what I have read in our media and viewed on our tv) they apparently were the ringleaders and rather bullying in nature. I do believe they themselves were the victims of the same bullying from a higher source. ALL of the Bali 9 were nothing more than couriers - pawns actually... in the drug trafficking game.

... and mini... you tell me to look at the big picture... i think you need to look at the big picture my friend - it goes way beyond the Bali 9.

Chan and Sukumaran needed a "foot up the backside" to wake themselves up - and trust me they have certainly got that now... I still don't think they deserve to die for their crime.

My heart bleeds for them, for the rest of the Bali 9, for Schapelle Corby, Holly Deane-Johns... every single Australian incarcerated overseas... the families of those incarcerated... every single person that is facing the Death Penalty... all the starving children all over the world... the abused children... animal cruelty... etc... etc... my heart bleeds to keep me alive!!!

The Bali 9 feared for their lives before imprisonment and they fear for their lives during their imprisonment...

Oh and for your information mini... you stated if it wasn't for Chan and Sukumaran there would be no Bali 9... utter utter crap... if there was no Bali 9 it would have been someone else... as long as drugs are being produced there will always be a pawn or 2 or 9 or whatever, sitting on Death Row. You can't tell me that Chan and Sukumaran chose the other 6 and bullied them because they felt like it... the other 6 were not innocent... they all got themselves involved, and their naivety got them into a hopeless situation that was seemingly impossible to get out of. All of them have faced up to their mistake and admitted their own guilt and involvement. They all deserve a chance to redeem themselves. Not all of them have had the ideal life in the perfect world, and I guess they were pretty much sucked in with temptation like overseas trips, mobile phones, money and the thought of eventually acquiring a better life.

The drug trafficking will never stop as long as the pawns are being killed off... there'll always be someone to replace them...

You've pretty much done that mini... and I have returned my opinion... several times.

So if you go back to the beginning of this "arguement" and take note that this forum is a SUPPORTERS forum for ALL of the Bali 9... then I will say my side of the argument is over.

I support all of the Bali 9.

If you don't then... bye bye

Default NO WAY it is right!

Justice doesn't kill!
It causes more victims - the innocent loved ones.

my number 2 point............
Murder is when a man kills another man.
Murder is criminal.
To commit a murder is wrong in the eye of the law.
Murder is wrong and a great sin in the eye of God also [and more importantly to many].

A government is a group of men helping to run a country.
A government of a country work for their country and their countries’ people.
They are men and women-
They do not work for God, they are not exempt to the law of man or God.

In Gods law it is wrong for a man to kill another man.
In mans law it is wrong for a man to kill another man.

So why is it the government of a certain country can kill a man and that be right?

Angry

I am only new here...obvious....but i'd like to ask a question.

Do any of you write those on the Row? and have you spoken to the families that often take the ride with the men and women condemned to DEATH?.
For those of you that AGREE with the DEATH PENALTY, have you really looked into the SYSTEM, and how it is carried out and to whom? Just curious is all.

I read a comment here( sorry i couldn't find it again), from what i believe to be from a young girl. Stating she thought murderers and child killers should be executed. But do you know the American Justice system at all? and who they LEGALLY MURDER by the sate?
Because i would like to challenge and ask you to go read before you start making comments that you surely have little knowledge of.
I do not mean to sound rude, but i was once like you. Uneducated and misinformed. I sincerely thought the DEATH PENALTY a good idea. It wasn't until i looked into the "Law of Parties" and started researching the TRUE meaning of the DEATH PENALTY did i find the REAL TRUTH.
OK i will get off my soap box, but it frustrates me...........
I am not specifically talking about the Bali 9 here, i am speaking for many that sit on DEATH ROW. I had a friend executed in January this year and i can tell you taking his life has done nothing more than make new victims.

"An eye for an eye and the whole world will go blind"
